Spring Break. What a BRILLIANT idea… whoever came up with it. A week of rest for teachers and students. Around this time of year EVERYONE needs a Spring Break.
To continue where I left off, because I know you are wondering what in the world Piper is doing on the couch! Well, lets just leave it at 1) she is weird and 2) needed to make herself comfortable when she got home, obviously.
Like I said before Spring Break is a time to rest so I did just that… got to rest and hang out with my sweet husband and puppy dog. I had time to sleep in, be with the Lord, go for long walks and with my fluffy Bear.
What makes these days at home even more fun is that my hubby got to come home for lunch and hang out for a little bit. This consisted of eating… with Piper dying for a bite of apple…
and of course snuggles and kisses from dad..
Piper had some adventures herself this week. When we got home from Tulsa, I decided to dig into my large stash of beanie babies (the nasty ones that I don't want to keep) to give piper a new toy. Now, normally when she receives these beanie babies they last maybe a full day before they are torn up with stuffing and beans coming out. However, this time she has kept this beanie baby for a FULL WEEK. Casey and I have just had the best time teasing her with this beanie baby and watching her carry it around like she is its momma. Take a look..
While she had her fun with the beanie baby, Piper also had a relaxing Spring Break…
Don't forget I did promise some more adventures… The first was to College Station. I know, so far. haha. One thing I love about taking road trips is listening to great music and singing at the top of your lungs while driving through the country. And believe me.. the road to College Station = Country.
My next adventure was to Dallas (a little further than CS) to see my Momma and Sister.
When I got there we decided to love on my family's dog Abby and do a photo shoot. Here's the product:
Abby is really old so we didn't have to worry about her escaping the photo shoot. haha. Precious.
Since it was the second day of spring I also wanted to brighten up the house with the beautiful flowers I found. It was such a pretty day, I just couldn't resist.
The next morning I got to spend time eating a many pancakes, pieces of bacon, and slices of cinnamon toast with my Grandma and Papa. It was so wonderful to spend the morning catching up with them. For the rest of the day, my Mom and I spent some quality time doing some shopping. Old Navy… Lu Lu Lemon… and of courseeee the PUPPY STORE!! Well, we didn't do shopping at the puppy store… just playing with this adorable Australian Shepherd puppy.
He was so cute and feisty, but did not tolerate my playing or kisses very well. This made me appreciate how tolerate Bear is of my "force kiss" "smothering" moments.
For dinner we enjoyed ourselves at El Fenix, which is my favorite mexican restaurant in Dallas. Mainly because I am just in love with this chips and salsa. Before dinner Mom and I decided to take some pics and show off our new finds..
Featured: Lu Lu Lemon Wonder Under Pants, Lu Lu Lemon Vinyasa Scarf as Cardigan, with of course our Old Navy tanks and sweater
To end the weekend I got to worship at Watermark Community Church and listen to Todd Wagner preach on rest and peace. Ending my Spring Break, this was wonderful to hear. What a sweet reminder of the discipline that is needed when seeking rest and peace in Jesus Christ. After church I got to spend time with my sweet college roommate which of course was MUCH NEEDED and then got to eat delicious food at Panera. Sunday. Complete.
Now I'm back home, rested and ready to finish the rest of the year strong. So thankful for times like these to relax and retreat. Hope you had a relaxing Spring Break as well… or at least enjoyed the lighter traffic ;)
