Sweet Time Away in Savannah

So, a couple of weekends ago Casey and I decided to take a trip to Savannah, Georgia. It was perfect timing.. right after Thanksgiving.. leading into the week before Christmas break. He had planned this little trip for us a while back after finding he needed to go to Savannah for work and thus turned it into a mini vacay for us!

We so enjoyed having a weekend to get away and spend time with each other. This entire semester has felt like a game of catch up and we finally got a chance to breath and take in some beautiful Georgia air. The city was so precious and we had so much fun exploring/eating our way through it.

We flew out Thursday night, so Friday morning we both spent working. My scene was at our precious bed and breakfast (Eliza Thompson House) where I spent my morning grading, emailing, planning, and getting ready for my last week at school before break. I mean.. if you had to do work on a day off.... I don't think I could have picked a better spot!

That afternoon I took my camera for a stroll and then went for stroll with my man through Forsyth Park before dinner that evening. It was such a beautiful evening and now matter how hard I tried, I could not do the trees justice in my photos... I guess you'll just have to go see yourself.

Friday evening went up to the top of the Bohemian Hotel on river street as the sun was setting before dinner at The Olde Pink House (which I somehow have zero pictures of.... picture fail.)! It was BEAUTIFUL.

The next morning we had a relaxing day with more exploring at Bonaventure Cemetery - it was such a beautiful place and a lot of walking which was excellent since we planned to eat our way through the rest of the day.

And of course to top it all off we had to go see the most precious Christmas Show at the Old Savannah Theatre. It was so family/Christ oriented and we LOVED it.

We finished Saturday night off with some delicious icecream and then Pizza (yes dessert did come before dinner... we were on vacation..) Sunday we slept in and ate the most amazing buffet at Paula Deen's restaurant "Lady and Sons"... and I officially could not move. Between the fried chicked, mashed potatos, mac n cheese, and buttercake, it was time to roll me out of Savannah.

What a sweet time it was to get away with my hubby. We love exploring new places together and I am so thankful for him as we daily are exploring our own new place in Dallas.

Now... on to Christmas Week!! A sweet time to focus on the first coming of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. What a sweet gift we have been given daily in His grace. Praying for you and your family this Christmas - hope you all have such a wonderful week with your family and friends.
